Palmerston Road

Master bedroom and garage addition
Working on the steep site came with its challenges but we took them head on and stayed on budget, so much so that the client added work to the project by updating the existing house as well, new paint, joinery, floor coverings and a new driveway brought it all together in the end. With a cut off roof edge (due to height to boundary restrictions) we had to get clever with the ceilings and wardrobe to make sure it still looked to part and was functional. The compact ensuite doesn't even feel like one due to understanding what the best layout is needed to achieve this. A cantilevered bedroom window creates a great place to sit and read a book with a magic view of the harbour.
New Driveway
Once the build was complete the client decided they wanted a whole new driveway to create lower maintenance and re-direct the water that streamed down this long driveway every winter. Formation of this was critical to having better access to the new front door and turning room for the cars as well.
The Pool
Construction of the pool included major earthworks and retaining and we had big access issues to overcome, blocks were brought in on conveyor belts and concrete pumps were used for every pour. Pool was brought in on the crane and it was a great milestone to reach seeing that set in place, we this constructed a timber deck around the pool with handrails and privacy screen to make this an all year round living space off the lawn. A last minute set of stairs were added to have even better access to the pool area from the upper deck.
