Queen Street

Completed house renovation and extension on Queen Street
We started with the client in the design stages to have input on the finishing products and the budget implications of those choices. We started with stripping out all the linings and cladding after putting up a full scaffold and shrink wrap. After re framing the new layout and replacing any rotten timber we then did a detailed check of all the design notes and fittings layout to make any changes needed. Now the spaces were defined properly so bathroom fittings, couches and kitchen were marked out. We could make some small alterations to make everything work to the best outcome with the spaces we had.
Once the joinery and cladding was installed the design really started coming to life, insulation was next and all of a sudden it felt warm and homely again. Putting linings up brought back the light that the floor to ceiling joinery was designed to let in. Fully tiled bathrooms and frameless showers made this home start looking like the masterpiece it was meant to be.
Custom stained oak wooden floors and marcabus granite stone kitchen island, feature cedar front door and entrance along with black oxide polished pebble concrete in the foyer were the final touches that really finished this project off. Some special fun we had with this project - building several sets of 6m stairs and landings to get down to the water at the bottom of the property and building a custom braai and water feature in the front courtyard.
A very happy client and we have remained friends since with talks about doing another project together.
